Can’t stop looking at these little feet. So cute. So pliable.

The Greatest Feeling …
I’ve been fortunate enough to have lived a very good life. I’ve enjoyed many great experiences along the way. However, I don’t think that I’ve ever felt anything so positive or rewarding as holding my little James, and successfully bringing him from tears to peace to rest to sleep. It’s powerful stuff. Now I just need to figure out how to make that sleep part last a little longer.

Time continues to fly – we’re almost at St Patrick’s Day with our little Irish Canadian Filipino American baby boy James. Not sure if he’ll be wearing green tomorrow or not. He tends to wear a few different outfits during the day, so I suppose there is a chance. The day started out a little earlier than would be ideal, but things turned around. We even made it out for our first family walk, taking in some of Milwaukee’s beauty, along the shores of Lake Michigan.

One Week Birthday Photo
Not exactly looking our finest, but here is how our little family looked the day that James turned one week old. In lieu of a tripod, I used the bathroom mirror to help out with this shot. I could be wrong, but I think that this is the first photo of the three of us together. Oops. Not sure how I missed out on getting one of these before now.
James is One Week Old!
Today is James’s one week birthday. He is celebrating by sleeping, which I feel is a great way to celebrate. His feeding cycles have stretched out a bit, which is good for all of us. He tends to be awake long enough to make a few really funny faces, look around, eat, and then go back to sleep. What a life! We’re glad that he’s joined us.
We probably aren’t doing enough thank yous, but, we need to thank everybody who has been helping us out. Lots of beautiful flowers and balloons. Some great meals. Some unbelievable helping hands in the home to help tidy up, change diapers, cook meals, hold a restless baby, and give some new parents a break. Many people to thank, but Lola Elma and Tita Mae have been two of the biggest helpers – THANK YOU! And now for the cute baby photos …

Safety First
With this many dangerous power cords around, it’s pretty easy to tell that we don’t have a toddler around, getting into trouble.
