Good Morning with James
We had a nice, quiet Saturday morning at home with James. For now at least, no noisy cartoons to deal with. James seems content to check out his new world, with long stares and little baby noises. Frank appears to be cautiously optimistic – or at least cautiously tolerant.

Lakeside Walk
Yesterday was a beautiful and sunny day, so we put on some warm clothes and took the family out for a walk.

4 Weeks Old and “He’s Perfect”
James had his one month checkup (a bit early), and all went well. In his pediatrician’s words, “he’s perfect”. Growing too. Nearly eight pounds now, and he’s an inch and a half longer than he was at birth. We’re very relieved to have such a healthy baby.
This short video shows that some of the expressions in the photos from this morning weren’t staged – they were the real deal.

Morning Play Time
James is spending a bit more time awake now than in past weeks. Since he can’t really “do” anything yet, we generally just lay him down and let him absorb the world around him. Today, he spent a bit of time with his Activity Center, and seemed to be enjoying the shapes and colors.
