James have moved beyond his army crawl into full on crawling. He’s wasted no time in learning how to pull himself up onto his knees and even to his feet (no photos yet) to check out the world from a higher vantage point. He’s strong, though a tad wobbly.
James seemed to enjoy his first Thanksgiving – the food of course, but also hanging out with his Titas, both in person and through our iPad.
Late into the evening with James refusing to sleep, we resorted to showing him YouTube videos … of himself. He loved the videos, but he really lost it when we showed him one of my personal favorites.
About a week ago, James had his first tooth officially arrive, followed by a second a day later. All in all, the start of the teething process hasn’t been too rough on him (or us) so we’ll hope that it’s a sign of good things to come.
As usual, James was a good little eater, finishing everything we could manage to get in his mouth.
James is a crawling machine these days. Crawling isn’t enough though, he needs to carry things around with him, or push something, like this stool. He quickly goes from pushing the stool to using it as leverage to get up on his knees, or even try standing up. This guy is constantly on the move. Note the rosy red cheeks as well – they came and went in a matter of days, but may have been related to the emergence of his first teeth.
This video is from last month, but it slipped under the radar until now. It seems that I caught James in the middle of a fit of rage, apparently unhappy with his most recent weigh-in. After several smacks, both left- and right-handed, he turned his rage onto the camera in a Hollywood star gone bad-style turn for the worse. What’s next for this troubled child?
James received his first, of what I’m sure will be many, “Ouch” reports at day care today. Nothing too serious, he just slipped and bumped his head. Such is life for an 8 month old boy.
Not much narrative needed for these – our busy little boy is still spending lots of time crawling around and happily playing. He’s getting stronger, and is beginning to spend some time on all fours, rather than just doing his army crawl.
