One of my favourite photos from the past year is our first family photo, a self portrait taken with some help from the bathroom mirror. James was one week old. One week away from his first birthday, we took an updated version of the photo. Can you spot many differences?
Somehow our little guy has turned 51 weeks old, and has grown up a whole lot along the way.
Today is the first snow day for James where daycare is closed. He and I are at home, hanging out, playing, eating snacks, and hopefully having a nap or two. That’s him that should have a nap or two, not me.
James has been doing well at school (daycare) in his new classroom. Lots of new routines … and lots of new toys to play with.
No photo or video evidence, but we just saw James take his first two steps. Definitely intentional and ended in a happy crash landing into Michele’s lap. To celebrate, we had him try on my hard hat.
No stranger to a full sized Nikon, James was doing his best to figure out all of the controls.
Another night, another bath. This time is was the blue bowls that caught James’s attention. Not just for holding soapy water, they work well as hats, for banging and noisemaking.
I like it when James sleeps peacefully – tonight was one of those nights. He’s recently begun to show some attachment to his ultrasoft stuffed bunny rabbit. Not a lot of action here, but this serves as a reminder for how far he’s come since the early days and nights where nobody was getting much sleep around here.
Getting caught up on some shots from boys weekend (last weekend), here are a number of shots that I took of the little guy looking good in his red t-shirt. As you’ll see, he’s figured out how to open some of our kitchen cupboards, and has been enjoying his plunder.
Some days the little guy just likes to sit down, have some supper and watch the news.
