Fridge magnets around the world – Asia

Here’s the first instalment in our new series of Fridge magnet videos. Yes, really. This lockdown is really testing my creativity, but fortunately I’ve got a pair of great storytellers that have a lot of stories they’d like to share. First up, Asia, based on our Christmas 2018 trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.

Fridge magnets around the world

A few years ago, we received a fridge magnet from our friend Daniela, from her home country of Bulgaria. We politely stuck it to our tiny fridge but then didn’t think much about it.

Costume Tuesday

The boys felt like wearing costumes this morning, so they did. Luke went with a varied approach while James settled on Harry Potter.

Lala’s European Adventure

When Lala came for a visit, the world was a different place. In our innocence, we took full advantage of many beautiful things the world has to offer.

We had a wonderful Christmas in London (despite the lack of heat!) and James and Luke were able to spend a lot of time with their grandmother.

In London, we went to the theatre (Hamilton), the ballet (the Red Shoes), shopped all over (Bond Street, Oxford Circus), ate at great restaurants (Fortunam & Mason, Dishoom, Argentinian Steakhouse) and saw Dennis play in his band at a famous pub where The Rolling Stones perform (Half Moon Bay).

In Paris, we saw the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre, stayed (Hotel Academie) and shopped (Bon Marche) in St. Germain de Pres and of course ate some wonderful food.

In Barcelona, we stayed in the Gothic Quarter (Hotel Hola Barcelona), were awed by La Sagrada Familia, toured the Picasso Museum, watched flamenco dancers and again ate some amazing food (jamon iberico, patatas braves, octopus).

In the Fuertaventura, Canary Islands, we had some sunshine filled family time and saw an almost alien landscape of deserts and volcanoes – just miles off the coast of Africa. Lots of food, camels, beach and fun.

We knew what a special time it was to have Lala with us. It was the most special time I have ever spent with my mom. In hindsight, we did not realize just how blessed we were.

Making scones

Because of coronavirus we had to make scones on “CLASS ZOOM” and it wasn’t very hard doing it. It’s a sticky job doing it because we have to use our hands to mush it up. It was like apple crumble but just not as crumbly, and 15 minutes later it was very very yummy.

I am making scones by mushing the batter and I’m watching the video by my teacher, & Frank is under me.
We’re finished making the scones in the shapes of circles. Now it’s time to put it in the oven. Hooray for scones!
Before it starts baking, you need to put on the eggy to make it golden.

Handsome brothers

When cute starts to become handsome … you’ve got these two guys. We’ve been making daily family treks into Richmond Park together, making the most of our coronavirus-lockdown daily exercise session. These logs represent the spaceship that James and Luke frequently blast off from.
