Dam It

Not wanting to deprive you of a great shot of a pair of Handsome Bearded Floods™, here you go. We went to the Hoover Dam today. Not to take anything away from the engineers, but … it’s a REALLY huge pile of concrete. Stops water, generates electricity. Everybody there seemed pretty happy about it.

Not content with the idea of a short, direct drive back from the Hoov (that’s what the locals should call it), we added a couple of hours to the trip back to LV and drove some amazingly scenic winding roads through the Nevada countryside. These are sports car commercial good. Literally. We had to wait while a film crew was setting up to shoot a Porsche commercial. Can’t blame them – the roads, the scenery and the magical light made for a very special scene.
