As the coronavirus lockdown restrictions are beginning to ease, I and many others were outside before sunset to see this beautiful scene.

First day of school*
Today was an unusual first day of school for Luke. For the first time in about 3 months, Luke went back to school today. He’s in Cocoon A for his class at school, making him one of the first in the entire school to return after the lengthy coronavirus lockdown. He seemed excited to go and came back happier than we’ve seen him in months. James is feeling a little left out, but with the government in control of who goes back to school when, there’s nothing we can do to speed up his return.
Here’s the first instalment in our new series of Fridge magnet videos. Yes, really. This lockdown is really testing my creativity, but fortunately I’ve got a pair of great storytellers that have a lot of stories they’d like to share. First up, Asia, based on our Christmas 2018 trip to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
Fridge magnets around the world
A few years ago, we received a fridge magnet from our friend Daniela, from her home country of Bulgaria. We politely stuck it to our tiny fridge but then didn’t think much about it.
Costume Tuesday
The boys felt like wearing costumes this morning, so they did. Luke went with a varied approach while James settled on Harry Potter.
Handsome brothers
When cute starts to become handsome … you’ve got these two guys. We’ve been making daily family treks into Richmond Park together, making the most of our coronavirus-lockdown daily exercise session. These logs represent the spaceship that James and Luke frequently blast off from.
Strong Adventure in Fuerteventura
Sunny, windy, volcanic and wonderful. We enjoyed our abbreviated* first visit to the Canary Islands.
* An annoying storm named Dennis caused a few headaches and delayed the start of our trip by a few days.
Year in Review – 2019
We started 2019 in Cambodia of all places – the year saw us continuing our rapid pace of travel with stops in Asia, Europe and around the UK. More family visits, a house move, an unfortunate foot injury and a whole lot more. Here’s to 2019!
A week in Southern Italy
What a fantastic week we had in Italy. After a slightly bumpy start (and very long layover in Frankfurt, Germany) we spent our time working our way from Rome down to Sorrento with stops in Naples and Pompeii along the way. Add in some family time with Angela and Derek and it was a very memorable time.
