It was a beautiful evening tonight, so James thought it was a great time to take his motorbike out for a walk. He hasn’t really learned about things like barriers, roads or danger just yet – but that doesn’t seem to bother him.
At long last … the outdoors!
Another weekend of James pushing stuff around our house … and then abandoning it so that he can move on to the next diversion.
A relatively quiet moment from a month ago. Our little boy is too tall and too curious to leave the mobile hanging above his crib. It’s just another toy for him now.
I think that James walked his first mile today. All day long, he was walking around our house, pushing stuff. Bar stools, foot stools, play tables, fire trucks and push carts. Half the time it seemed like fun for him, half the time it seemed like work. But he kept going, and going … needless to say, he also ate more today than I’ve ever seen him eat before. Hopefully he’s also going to have a record-breaking sleep tonight!
Though I was unable to video the splashiest, most wettest portion of this bathtime extravaganza, I was able to capture a couple of fun moments. James really seems to enjoy bathtime … and assuming you’re willing to cooperate with him during the dry-off period, bedtime usually goes pretty well too. It wasn’t always that way in the early days, so this is progress.
The birthday party has come and gone, but there are still some party remnants left around the house. James has taken a special interest in this balloon, and has been giving it lots of special attention lately. He has yet to learn the important lessons about balloons deflating or popping … chances are he’ll learn at least one of them soon.
Another night, another bath. This time is was the blue bowls that caught James’s attention. Not just for holding soapy water, they work well as hats, for banging and noisemaking.
I like it when James sleeps peacefully – tonight was one of those nights. He’s recently begun to show some attachment to his ultrasoft stuffed bunny rabbit. Not a lot of action here, but this serves as a reminder for how far he’s come since the early days and nights where nobody was getting much sleep around here.
