James was in a very playful mood when we went to pick him up from Lola Elma’s place last Friday night. Though he should have been asleep, he seemed quite content to be rolling, playing and goofing around. Who needs sleep?
Category: a moment with James
About a week ago, we gave James his first Cheerio. He liked it, and quickly wanted to start helping himself. With no apparent effort, his finger and thumb were working together to pick up one Cheerio at a time. The pick ups worked a little better than the drop offs – which ended up in his lap as often as in his mouth – but all in all, I thought it was pretty impressive. I wanted to get a video of the finger/thumb action this weekend, but it seems that he’s graduated to a slightly greedier version. Now he’s grabbing as many as he can, with both hands, with little regard for how many end up in his mouth. Do we have a hoarder on our hands, or is this just evolution’s way of making sure that he’s well fed?
Late into the evening with James refusing to sleep, we resorted to showing him YouTube videos … of himself. He loved the videos, but he really lost it when we showed him one of my personal favorites.
This video is from last month, but it slipped under the radar until now. It seems that I caught James in the middle of a fit of rage, apparently unhappy with his most recent weigh-in. After several smacks, both left- and right-handed, he turned his rage onto the camera in a Hollywood star gone bad-style turn for the worse. What’s next for this troubled child?
Still on the move.
James has been on the move for a while, crawling all about, but I haven’t captured much of it on video. Here’s a bit of what he’s been up to lately:
Another day, another intense leg workout for James – and lots of bouncing and noise along the way.
James has been working hard at finding his voice over the past few days. We’re not too sure which way things will end up, but with any luck, it won’t sound like this for too much longer!
Showing off his newfound skill of sitting. His solid base of support helps counteract his top heaviness.
