All good things are worth waiting for … or at least repeating on a regular interval.
Category: a moment with James
James loves to spin things … so today we got him a new toy that has all kinds of spinning options. After a tentative start, he quickly figured things out and was spinning away like a pro.
The world changed for James this morning. He discovered his first door stopper. After a few seconds, he tried his first pluck. He was hooked. He didn’t stop plucking it for several minutes. I’m sure that he’ll be back for more plucks in the very near future.
When we got home from work/day care, I put James on the floor to play, but he couldn’t stop looking at, and laughing at Frank. Humour is in the eye of the beholder, right?
While I was taking these photos, I also got a bit of video footage of James doing his thing in his bedroom. Happy little guy, but as you can see, he had enough of my camera by the end of the video!
Today was the first day that we took James to the pool for a splash and swim. It seemed like he loved the pool, so hopefully things continue to go well over the coming weeks of swim lessons.

I didn’t see this coming, and I don’t think that James did either.
Not only is James getting closer to crawling, he appears to be getting closer to being able to flight – or at least flinging himself out of his crib and onto the floor. I think we’ve got a rambunctious little fella on our hands.
Originally, I had hoped to get a shot like this for the ‘six month’ video, but I didn’t get it in time to make it into my extensive Hollywood-style video editing process. In any event, I did capture this brief little moment of James taking a nap on his six month birthday. It’s becoming rarer and rarer to see him nearly motionless and quiet.
