Costume Tuesday

The boys felt like wearing costumes this morning, so they did. Luke went with a varied approach while James settled on Harry Potter.

Making scones

Because of coronavirus we had to make scones on “CLASS ZOOM” and it wasn’t very hard doing it. It’s a sticky job doing it because we have to use our hands to mush it up. It was like apple crumble but just not as crumbly, and 15 minutes later it was very very yummy.

I am making scones by mushing the batter and I’m watching the video by my teacher, & Frank is under me.
We’re finished making the scones in the shapes of circles. Now it’s time to put it in the oven. Hooray for scones!
Before it starts baking, you need to put on the eggy to make it golden.

The year that was 2017

A staggering amount of time has passed since my last post on this website – more than two years on the calendar, and seemingly much more than that in terms of the life we’ve lived and the changes that have occurred in that time.

Enjoying some snow and sledding in Switzerland

First, a relatively quick highlight reel of some of our fondest memories of 2017.

If you’re a more dedicated follower (hi grandparents!), please read on and watch the overly-indulgent 10-minute video at the end of this post.

The Boys

I’m pretty sure my head isn’t this big in reality. But, Luke definitely IS this big. Amazing.

More Pumpkins

As you can see, James was happy to be helping out with all things pumpkin.

A Pumpkin Carving Time Lapse

James is unbelievably excited about all things Halloween, even though he seems to understand very little. In any case, he knows that pumpkins and spiders are critical, so …

And yes, this is the third time lapse video in recent memory. And yes, I did get a new camera/phone. It’s pretty awesome.

Femur Time

I’m not particularly skilled in comforting young children, and I don’t really have a soft, curvy body for a baby to nestle in to. I do however have reasonably long femurs, which lets me hang out with Luke (and James before), letting him lay comfortably and see me eye to eye. It’s usually one of my favorite times of the day. Here’s a photo of one of our recent visits.

Bottle Duty

We’re not exactly thrilled to have nightly bottle duty as part of the routine again. Tough job, but somebody has to do it.
