James and I had a nice outing tonight, having dinner together at Beans & Barley. Nothing fancy, but we got in and out painlessly, without a diaper bag, without too many spills and no tears. Victory.

James has been pushing boundaries like any good two year old lately. One of his new favorites … and our least favorites is spitting when we tell him something he doesn’t like.
A minute ago while pretending to be angry, he made the spitting sound which triggered a strong reaction from Momma Bear. How did he react? A big smile and told her, “I kidding”. We’ve never heard that one before. I’m sure we’ll hear it again.

To the Zoo
James has shown quite a bit of interest in dogs, and woofs at most other animals when he seems them in books or on TV, so we thought that it was a good time to make our first family trip to the Milwaukee Zoo. He seemed to enjoy the goats, the elephants and giraffes the most. Fun time out with our little animal lover.
First Bike Ride
James woke up with a plan this morning. Today was his day. Today was the day that he would walk. The resilient little fella kept at it, and managed to get in a few steps, multiple times. He kept sticking with it, adding more and more steps, all the while smiling with pride. We proud parents were happy to see his success too, naturally. Way to go James!
