It hasn’t taken us long to learn how much water means to Seattle. It’s everywhere. So, we thought that it made sense to see the city from the water … we took a short ferry ride and enjoyed some blue skies and skyline views.

Space Needle
James successfully bullied us into going to the Space Needle with the sheer repetition and persistence that three year olds are famous for. He loved seeing the needle up close. We probably could have saved money and skipped the admission fee, instead going straight to the gift shop. Touristy as it was, the view is pretty great from the observation deck.
Luke was there, but we couldn’t figure out how to safely get him into the photo. Next time.
Pike Place Market
Like all good tourists, we made our way to the Pike Place Market, America’s first farmer’s market, during our trip. We went as a group on our first morning in Seattle – we barely scratched the surface, but could see the appeal of the place. I was fortunate enough to get a second and then third glimpse later in the trip and scored a few extra photos.

Seattle Aquarium
We spent one of our mornings at the Seattle Aquarium with my friend Gretchen and her boys Bennett and Charlie. The big boys took good care of the little boys, and I think they all enjoyed seeing the various sea creatures in the aquarium. They were all well behaved, long enough, that we adults could catch up and chat without too much hands-on parenting.
