Obviously we’ve got a long way to go until James can actually speak … but in the last day or two, he’s certainly found his vocal chords, and is getting louder and louder with his squeaks, squawks, chirps and growls.

Activity Center Time, Again
James is spending more and more of his awake time just laying back, and watching things in his ‘Activity Center’. He hasn’t discovered his hands yet, but his eyes are definitely focusing on things, and he’s beginning to find his voice.

Good Morning with James
We had a nice, quiet Saturday morning at home with James. For now at least, no noisy cartoons to deal with. James seems content to check out his new world, with long stares and little baby noises. Frank appears to be cautiously optimistic – or at least cautiously tolerant.

4 Weeks Old and “He’s Perfect”
James had his one month checkup (a bit early), and all went well. In his pediatrician’s words, “he’s perfect”. Growing too. Nearly eight pounds now, and he’s an inch and a half longer than he was at birth. We’re very relieved to have such a healthy baby.
